June 29th 2013 was Armed Forces Day, a national day to celebrate and appreciate their role .There is so much material relating to the armed forces in the archives that we were spoilt for choice when it came to choosing what to take. We decided on a range of copies of photos from the late 19th century through to the 1950s. We also took a copy of the Book of Honour for the Manchester City Battalions of the 90th and 91st Infantry Brigades, published in 1916. This lists those who went to fight and their places of work.
