This week has been a hectic one for the Archives+ team. We’ve got some more fantastic volunteers on board, some of them will be popping up on here pretty soon. We’ve also been planning lots of events for the Summer Reading Challenge.
For those of you who don’t know, the Summer Reading Challenge happens every year during the school summer holidays. Its aim is to encourage children to read six books over the holiday period and happens in libraries up and down the country. There is a different theme each year, and this year it’s “Creepy House”. If you know some pre-teens and would like to enrol them, just pop in to your local library. You may even get lucky and encounter the Archives+ team who are touring libraries across the city with creepy house pictures and crafts.
Many of you will know that we aren’t short on pictures of creepy houses in our archives. We did find one that seemed a little creepier than usual…
