Saturday the 17th of May was gloriously sunny so I was pleasantly surprised when 17 people turned out to attend our Make Do and Mend Sewing Class at Manchester Central Library.
Delivered by the lovely Janine and Charlotte from Junkshop the participants got the chance to get their hands on copies of Vogue from the Archives+ collections to inspire the shopping bags they made.
The fabric used to create the bags was recycled from bedding and curtains, following the World War 2 principles of Make Do and Mend.
Here they all are showing off their creations at the end of the session!
Take a look at our Flickr to see more images of the lovely day and keep your eye on the Archives+ website for future events.
Thanks to Maxine Bamber for volunteering her photography skills.
